Read on to find out exactly how you can get started today!

Steps on How to Enroll in a Class

Getting started is simple. The first step is to request information. From there, you’ll connect with an admissions team member by phone, who will answer any questions you may have. They will be your guide through the enrollment process. During that initial phone call, they’ll schedule a time for you to visit campus, where you’ll participate in a brief interview, tour the facility, and have the opportunity to meet faculty. Or if you’re pursuing the fully online medical billing and coding training program, you can opt for a virtual visit instead.

After your campus visit to Boardman Training Center, you’ll complete an application form, submit a copy of your driver’s license, high school diploma or GED, and immunization records, and take care of your program fees. Once these steps are finished, you’ll be officially registered for classes!

Once you’re officially enrolled, it’s time to begin your classes! Your admissions team member will be there to support you every step of the way, helping ensure you’re fully prepared with everything you need, like scrubs, textbooks, and essential supplies.

Healthcare Training Programs and Professional Certifications

Boardman Training Center programs are designed to jump-start your healthcare career in just weeks, and students are prepared to sit for certain National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certifications* that are valued by employers.

In our Phlebotomy program, students prepare for a rewarding career as a phlebotom technician and become eligible to sit for the Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT)* certification exam. Throughout the program, students gain hands-on experience in essential skills, including basic phlebotomy, specimen collection procedures, proper use of specimen-collection equipment, skin-puncture techniques, and more.

Our EKG program prepares students with essential skills, including operating heart-monitoring equipment, recognizing normal and abnormal EKG readings, and identifying basic dysrhythmias. As an EKG technician, these skills will be vital for supporting patient care across a variety of medical settings every day. Graduates will also be prepared to sit for the Certified EKG Technician (CET)* exam.

Throughout the Medical Assisting Specialist program, students develop clinical skills including performing injections, monitoring vital signs, collecting lab specimens, providing basic wound care, and more. Once they’ve completed the program, students will be ready to sit for two important NHA certifications: the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)* and Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)* exams.

The online Medical Billing and Coding Specialist program provides training in the essential skills needed to manage the administrative side of healthcare. Students gain hands-on experience in a variety of critical areas, including CPT-4 coding, electronic medical records, insurance billing and claims processing, statistical reporting, and other key office procedures.
