For Isabella, choosing BTC was an easy decision. The appeal of smaller class sizes and an accelerated program structure made it the ideal place to begin her healthcare journey. As a student in the Medical Assisting Specialist program, she developed a wide range of practical skills that will serve her well, including vital signs, administering various medical tests, providing basic wound care, and performing phlebotomy.

Keep reading this blog to learn more about Isabella’s experience at Boardman Training Center and her time in the Medical Assisting Specialist program.

BTC’s Medical Assisting Training

Students enrolled in Boardman Training Center’s Medical Assisting Specialist program gain essential knowledge and hands-on experience through a comprehensive curriculum designed to prepare them for a healthcare career in just weeks, not years. Our accelerated 12-week program blends structured classroom learning with practical training to build the skills and confidence needed to step into a medical assistant role.

BTC students are prepared to sit for two National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification* exams: the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) and the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA). Earning these valuable credentials opens doors in the healthcare field and helps students begin their path toward a rewarding career.

Isabella hopes her medical assistant training will open the door to a rewarding career in healthcare, where she can use her hands-on skills to make a meaningful impact. In the future, she aspires to continue growing in the field and explore additional career paths, such as nursing or sonography. “I would like to do medical assisting for a while and then continue my education.”

Isabella’s Experience

Isabella’s favorite part of attending Boardman Training Center was “my classmates and the friendships made.” When reflecting on the most rewarding part of being a BTC student, Isabella shared that “making new friendships, learning the material, and passing my final” made all the hard work worth it. These moments have made her educational journey both meaningful and memorable.

BTC’s smaller class sizes create a comfortable, supportive learning environment that enables students to form lasting friendships that extend beyond the classroom. With fewer students in each classroom, it’s easier to connect with classmates, collaborate during hands-on training, and build genuine relationships. Many of these friendships continue long after the program ends, giving students a lasting network of peers who share similar goals and experiences.

When asked whether she would recommend Boardman Training Center to someone looking to advance their healthcare education, Isabella said, “Yes, it’s a good starting point to help further your education,” while also emphasizing the importance of “finding the program that works best for them.”
